SMC focuses on speech processing, in particular spoken language understanding, speech recognition and speech synthesis, and the integration of speech into multimodal user interfaces. The group also does research in the processing and transmission of speech signals in wireless networks and how spoken interaction can be integrated into user interfaces on small handheld devices such as mobile phones and PDAs. |
